On 16 July, our team at intercultures España & LATAM will host the Transcultural Competence Lab, a live online session (15:00 to 18:00 CET, via Zoom) dedicated to the practical development of Transcultural Competence in teams. We warmly invite you to join us.
Over the past months, our team has been working on ELEVATE, a project co-funded by the European Union that develops a new methodology for building Transcultural Competence as a team capability. After an intensive period of research, co-creation and piloting with partner organisations across Europe, we are now ready to share the approach with a wider international community. This Lab is one of the first opportunities to experience it live.
The session will be facilitated by our CEO, Anna Zelno, consultant and facilitator with more than 20 years of experience in the intercultural training field, and one of the co-authors of the ELEVATE methodology.
Rather than presenting the methodology as theory, Anna will bring it to life through an experiential, learning-by-doing session. Participants will explore the results of a year of collaborative work and the paradigm shift emerging in our field: from explaining cultural differences to helping teams understand themselves, relate better, and build new ways of working together.
At the heart of ELEVATE is a simple but demanding question: how can diverse teams move beyond awareness and translate transcultural competence into everyday collaboration?
During the Lab, you will explore and experience the four steps of the methodology:
- Recognize: noticing the uniqueness each person brings to the team, the diversity of perspectives, and the visible and invisible patterns that shape how people work together.
- Connect: finding shared values, common needs and areas of common ground that allow trust to grow across differences.
- Elevate: turning diversity into concrete collaboration practices, team rituals and behaviours that strengthen inclusion, creativity and performance.
- Implement with Impact: building a follow-up system that helps teams sustain new practices and create impact beyond the training room.
This is not a lecture. The Lab is practical and experiential: participants take part in selected exercises, reflect on their own professional context, and explore the ELEVATE WebApp, including the role of AI-assisted learning in supporting reflection, transfer and continuous development. Everyone who registers will also receive early access to the WebApp, to explore selected resources and test the learning journey before the session.
The Lab is designed for HR, L&D and DEI professionals, trainers, consultants, facilitators, leaders and educators who work with diverse, international or multicultural teams, and who want to go beyond stereotypes, awareness and good intentions.
